Excel Tip of the Day

Many of know about the basic Autofill Handle.  Type something into a cell, highlight it, then pull on the box in the lower right of the “marquee” or cell indicator, and your contents are either copied (numbers) or your list is filled (days of the week, months of the year, etc.).  But, do you know about control key + Autofill (CTRL + Autofill)?

Hold the control key while you pull the Autofill Handle and it does the opposite of the default.  That is, it copies the label (day of the week, month of the year, etc.) or fills in a simple series of numbers.

Try it!!
